I probably won’t do a full review Skrillex’s new album F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3 (yes, real title), so just know there are plenty of moments along its 46-minute fever dream of a DJ mix that are worth celebrating. It’s a non-stop trip through Skrill’s best drops and tunes in quite some time, and your reward for making it to the finish line is “VOLTAGE”. True fans know this was supposed to be part of a Skrillex album long before this one, but after the laptop it was produced on was stolen, it lived in unreleased forms for years, hinting at a classic that never was. Here in 2025 it finally sees the light of day, and that 2012-ass energy the song brings still goes hard. The faux-emotional chorus with its Swedish House Mafia house euphoria leads into a blistering drop, as hard as Skrillex has ever dropped it. It’s like an end credits for the end of an era, a palette-cleansing brostep banger as Skrillex ends his relationship with Atlantic Records and steps into the great electronic beyond.
Verdict: #throwback/10
